Default ASP pulley worth it?

Are the gains from the ASP underdrive pulleys worth it? Which one would you go with?

The engine will definitely rev faster because it's significantly lighter than the stock piece and you might pick up 8-10 rwhp. It's also much easier to remove and install compared to the stock balancer.

Cool thanks for the reply. Anyone else with personal experience on this>? Also, I believe there are two types of UD pulleys, which is the one to get?

As far as know, ASP only makes one pulley for the LS1 F-body.

It's a noticeable difference and can be felt by SOTP. Engine revs alot quicker. Consensus shows a tenth or 1mph gain in ET which is about 10rwhp.

there is an UD pulley and an OD (overdrive) pulley. If you are an auto chances are you will need the OD pulley to compensate for the electronics running off your alternater

p.s. Yes, it's worth it.

I have the powerbond same as SLP. I guess it was worth it. I had access to a lift and all the tools so the install was not to bad.

i got the asp with the overdrive alternator pulley because i have a decent sized system but aparently it isn't overdriven enough because my amps drop much more than they did before.

would just get a UD pulley and not an OD pulley because you are negateing the whole reason for getting an UD pulley, i have a decent sized system too and it is not that bad, just have a little dip in voltage around stop lights so i had the idle bumped up 150rpm

After reading about pulleys for a good year now - and waiting on a sponser to run a special - I finally said screw it and picked up a March Pulley from Thunder. They got a good package deal running right now.

I see it as a good 'complimentary' mod to the rest of my I/E bolt ons..
