Default cutouts hurt??

Hey anyone that has cut outs answer me this. If i were to buy some cut outs, and weld them in after my long tubes. if i run with them, will it damage my motor or hurt it in any way? I wont be running with them off unless its a nice weekend and to go to car shows. does anyone here do this?

based on what ive heard, as long as you dont run around all the time with open headers, you shouldnt hurt anything. im thinking of getting a cutout myself soon!

You need the cutouts to be a couple of feet back
from the O2 sensors or you'll likely corrupt their
readings at low gas flows, leading to some tune
drift with learning. You might choose to make a
pair of pipe stubs to replace the blockoff plates
to get this, if you don't have enough distance in the
collectors. Or put the cutouts back at the first Y-
pipe bend (continuing it straight) if the Y is weldable
or you don't ming munging the coating.

I find with headers I've picked up a little WOT ping
that I didn't have on stock logs, with the cutout open.
That's a minor tune deal, wants spark taken out for
the increased breathing / cylinder charge. With stock
timing and fueling you'd probably have plenty of room
though. Mine was all tweaked up for as-was, before
headers and I haven't bothered to touch it up yet.

i have true dual. theres only so many places i can put them. so after the headers is no good? i have run the car with open headers cause i had to drive it home and wait till the next day to do the rest of the exhaust. its sounded like a drag race car. it was scary!!!!!!!ha ha

dude if you have true duals why do you want cutouts?? the exhaust is already flowing really good as is and i dont think you would gain anything from the cutouts.

what he said. i have td's and a cam and it is f%#$#ing loud! if i romp on it with the window or top down through any underpass my left ear rings for the rest of the day. even going past thick trees or houses is insanely loud.

do a cam first. good power gains and it will have a better sound and be really loud like you want.

my brother inlaw was behind me going down his driveway and at an idle he said the ca was so loud he could feel his gas pedal vibrating. so be ready to break some windows like italiano99 said. and get it on video so we can see and hear. I might want the same setup.

Ok so if you run dual cuttouts right after the headers, that means they are still before the cats if im not mistaken. So obviously that will throw off some sensors and turn on your ses light right? will the light shut off immediately after you close the cuttouts?
