Youll hear praise and criticism for both. Your wallet likes one company a little more than the other.

Go with the QTP. Better quailty, last longer and wont leak. Also they have been supporting the LS1 world and LS1Tech for 4 years now. The other has not. You wont be disapointed.

Keith McCord has been really good to deal with. He sent me full diagrams on how to wire up my cutout to a convertable switch. It makes for a really stealthy look that always seems to impress when I tell people it's there. But if I don't want them to know they would never think to ask. I'm in a situation now that I hit something that damaged my MPP2 and they are going to fix it at cost for an existing customer. I think McCord is a good company that stands behind their product.

I had a mpp2 on my car for over a year and had no problems with it. I sold it to a buddy when I did my duals and it's still going strong. They're a little less expensive, but you have to wait over a month to get it since they custom build each one.

Don't Go With Qtp. They Suck. Check The Sponsor Feedback Section!

I bought a QTP Q-TEC opener 4 years ago, and never could get it to stay working. I had QTP rebuild it once, then I rebuilt it a few times afterwards. The last time it broke the motor came lose, and it bent the shaft on the motor. I refuse to pay QTP $30 to rebuild this piece of ****. I ordered a McCord Power Plate 2 weeks ago, and am waiting for it to arrive.

I have often thought to ask you which one you had because you always say you have a "non-sponsor" cutout. I was almost thinking it was a DMH...

BTW We have the MPP2 as well, very solid cutout!

Was this before the butterfly plates were welded to the shaft at the factory?

I heard the original MPP had problems. But the design was really improved in the MPP2.

My McCord lost the plate in about 6 months, sent it back and they welded the butterfly on under warranty, and then the motor died about 4 months later (about the time the warranty ran out). I pulled it out and put the cap back on. However, I did use it heavily and opened/closed it at least twice a day. It probably woulda lasted longer if I didn't use it all the time.

I recently gave up on cutouts altogether since I have a kickass exhaust setup now and don't need one anymore.

I have had two McCord powerplates, not one problem. I did tack weld plate onto the first one, just because I was worried about it. But the new ones (MPP2 on my TA) come welded on. I 'd say they got heavy use, opened and closed at least every day, one was on my truck in the winter.
