Default What do i clean my MAF with?

I just put in a K&n Fileter and i know since it new its covered in lots of K&N oil which ends up on the maf sensers which is making them dirty. So now here comes the ? what do i clean the sensior with? Ive heard a couple diffrent ideas. 1. Clean it with a que tip and rubbing alchool. 2. Take break cleaner to it. 3. Take computer parts cleaner to get it. 4. If anyone has any ideas please share.

Put it in a bag with non-clorinated brake cleaner and shake it gently. Do not touch or rub the MAF with anything.

I certianly would not do that. Buy some electrical contact cleaner and spray it off real well.

I used rubbing alcohol and Qtips, done it a few times never had any issues. But of course it goes without saying be EXTREMELY gentle. Those resistors are very tiny, and the wiring very thin.

I used the CRC Maf Cleaner. Just used the force of the straw aimed at the wires (I still have my screen in) a couple of times and let it air dry before reinstalling. This stuff is expensive (5.00/can), but it worked like a charm, just as claimed.

The scary thing is that this is right, If you call any of the aftermarket companys making MAF's they will tell you to use break clean. Believe my I was very hesitant

alcohol and q-tips + gentle hand works wonders. But the brake cleaner idea is good too if you have the shakes, lol.

Electric Parts Cleaner ... comes in an aerosol can. Sprayed it off real well, let it dry.
