Default spark plug wire clearance

I just installed some Pacesetter LT's and now some of my MSD wires are very close to the headers. How much clearance do you have? Has it caused you any problems?

Before I put my cam in, I had MSD boots resting on the header tubes for like 8 months with no problems. I later found little white burnt spots on like 4 of them about a week after I put the cam in.

I broke out the multi-meter and checked them all out. One was reading a little more resistance than the rest, but still less than the stockers.

I rotated the end of the plug wire that snaps onto the coil pack so it points away from where the header tube contact was, this helps keep it off a bit. You can also take your metal boot protectors off the stockers and stick them on the new plugs wires if you want.

My Vette has the same problem with the very last plug wire on the driver side. But my wire was burnt through and was garbage after a month. I bought the wire sleeves and used one on that last plugwire and have had no problems. Better to be safe than sorry In my book.

LS2 plug wires will fit and the 90 deg moulded end gives good clearance.
Sorry I don't know the part number.

Awesome! Are those MSD LS2 wires? OEM? Are you sure they snap into the coil packs from an LS1 correctly?

I may have to get a set!

It's not that the headers run that much cooler, but the rubber that the MSD boots are made out of is some next-level-****.

That plug is easy as pie from under the car (with longtubes). The way the primary came off the flange, the LS2 wires would be sitting on it with the little puller handle thing. It probably would have been ok but I just left one of my MSD's on that plug.
