what is the big gain in doing a ory instead of a standard y pipe set up?

Ummm simple, Off Road Y Pipe= no cats =more airflow.
I think thats all?
Check out the stickys at the top, they have a lot of info about exhaust.

With a decent pair of high flow cats you should lose more than 5-8 rwhp

With a good pair of cats your not going to loose more then 2-4 HP, but you get LT's then you need a new Y-pipe and cant use a standard one anyways

Plus it is way cheaper. You will smell some fumes, but no biggy.
