Default 450 Bhp

When my conversion is complete, I`d like the engine to be producing around 450 bhp.
What would I have to do, to my LS1, without internal work ?
I`m not having belt driven power steering, as I have an electrical pump, and I`m doing away with air con.
Because space is limited, I`m gonna have to stick with standard headers, the exaust will be custom 2 1/2" to suit the car.
What would you guys reccommend ?

Thanks
Pete

What is it going in?? Does it have a ls6 intake (no egr)?? If you have the ls1 intake you can get a ls6 intake. A ported TB, underdrive pully. Are you looking for crank HP or 450 at the wheels??

That little thing should haul *** after the conversion. You have a ls6 intake on that engine so you wont need that. A pully and ported TB will help. Is there no way headers will fit in the engine bay?? You could look at mac's mid length too. Also and I know you said no internals but a mild cam wouldn't cost that much or take that much time to put in.

Pete,

Do the CAM swap while you can get at the engine.

I went for a TR230 (+pushrods/springs/titanium retainers) from Thunder, and also went for the Katech rod bolts for insurance.

Rgds

Heres a pic of mac's next to qtps long tubes.

If you can fit them or long tubes do it. A cam: something in the 225(+-) duration range, 570-580 (+-) lift, and a 114lsa would have good streat manners. Pully:https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ighlight=pully

If you go with a cam swap, check this link out. Don't just toss a cam in, go with something somebody's actually put some thought into.

SLP's U/D pulley will do fine. For more power, try a FAST 90/90 setup(90mm inlet, 90mm throttle body). Put in a lighter flywheel with a stouter clutch. And TRY to fit some full-length headers in there, maybe for a Vette, GTO, or other LS-powered vehicle.
