98->99+ Valve Cover Conversion
I'm doing my LS6 head swap/LS6 PCV conversion now.
I bought some center bolt valve covers off of eBay.
These valve covers didn't come with the oil fill neck, nor the pcv hookup on driver side valve cover.
I moved the oil fill over,no problem.
But I do not have a grommet in my 98 valve covers...just a big plastic connector for the PCV hose.
So, does anyone know of the part number for the grommet, or recommend on how to close the 1" hole in the new valve cover? ...if I need to move my PCV hose connector over from my 98 valve cover, how do I get it off?
TIA

That has alot of good information.
I think you have to unhook the PCV hose connector from the inside or something. I haven't done it yet, but probably will pretty soon.

Ya that is the write-up I'm going off of...I already bought the grommet plug, but the 98s don't have the grommet, just a big plastic peice. I measured it...looks like I need a grommet for a 1" hole, & the plug is 11/16" ...maybe Radio Shack has one, or maybe a 1" blanking grommet.

Sorry, I thought you were trying to plug a hole like in that writeup.
If you're talking about the same thing I'm thinking of now, it's right beside the brake booster on the normal 98 valve cover. You can probably put a piece of hose around the outside of it, then stick a bolt with some RTV in the other end of the hose with a clamp holding it in.

Well Radio Shack doesn't even sell grommets...more or less the employees there know what a grommet is...
Anyways...anyone know when I can pickup grommets at? (for a 1" hole)
I just got my valve covers powder coated & really don't want to use the bolt shoved into the hole (looks kinda ghetto)
Thanks again.
