anyone ever tried making their own CME?
id love to have CME on my car, but dont wanna fork out the money that the rear valence and tips cost. has anyone ever tried to make their own using a regular RS rear valence that's cut to house the cheap aftermarket tips like these, or anything similar?
heres the tips http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1993-...QQcmdZViewItem

Yes, I did have those polished rectangle tips on my car in the center. When I had an exhaust place fab up my dynomouth, I had them do a CME rather than split them to each end. I got a lot of compliments on the car like that. Then when I first installed longtubes, I ran true duals under the axles and out the back, but I kept the home made CME. Ive since switched to over the axle duals and installed the real CME.

did you have the rear ground effect piece cut so the tips could fit like they do inside the rear valence on the CME kit? or did you just leave the tips there w/o a rear valence? id like to see some pics if you cut the ground effects yourself and fit the tips flush.

hmm interesting, i think a centermount with the stock Z28 rectangle tips (polished of course) would look very good and clean. I think i like that better than the regular CME tips
