Default will this fix y pipe banging?

I can't stand how my y pipe bangs after my lt + ory install. I know poly motor mounts will probably fix the problem, but I don't want to mess with that right now. Will putting some heater hose between the floorboard and the y pipe at the tight spots stop the banging? What could I use to secure the hose to the y pipe? I thought about just duck taping some on there but I'm worried the tape might catch fire and zip ties would probably melt.

Give it a shot...I've done poly motor mounts, and that **** took me two weekends (I got so pissed off the first weekend I just did one and said screw it).

Yeah, I'm going to try it tonight. I still don't know what to use to secure the hose though. Think duck tape will catch fire?

I don't think it will catch fire, but it'll sure as hell melt.

Just go to your local Home Depot or Lowe's and get a big hose clamp.

I tried autozone and oreilly's but they didn't have any hose clamps big enough. I'll check out home depot. Thanks.

I was having the same problem not to long ago. I went to Lowes Hardware and bought some hi-temp heater hose, took my pocket knife and cut it open lengthwise and then get a hose clamp and secured the open rubber hose in between my driver side floorboard and the ORY. No more banging.

I've also heard of people who have used a breaker bar to widen the gap between the floorboard and ORY (when the car is up on the lift).
