Some say H, some say X. It's all a matter of what you like, so I'd suggest hitting LS1Sounds' True Dual page and comparing Xs to Hs.

As for power, the X is reputed to give a little more up high than the H, but then that depends on what kind of H you compare it to. I'd venture to say that the H you posted above would do just as well as an X, plus allow for a much tighter fitment of your duals.

X pipe will give u a deeper rumble, and will net slightly higher hp.

H pipe will give u a more classic muscle car sound, will net more power under the curve and more torque, and from what I've heard it'll have less drone than an X pipe

Interesting. I've always wondered that.

I have a custom fabricated X-Pipe on my car that I made myself....it seems to work fine. I first built am H-Pipe and I just didn't like the sound....but as for feeling the diffrence in the seat of your pants.....I can't tell a damn thing....I just like the X sound better.

Depends on the quality of the H-pipe and y-pipe.

IMO, H-pipes sound better, but fitment becomes an issue, and they don't make the power that X-pipes do (under the curve or top-end). That's why I made sure I got a quality X-pipe (Dr. Gas).

I'd have to consider the pic he posted on the left an H-pipe, bro. I fabbed my own H with similar dimensions, and it'll let you run two pipes side by side without having to deal with the funky@$$ bends on both ends of an X.
