Default clips on coilpacks

I noticed these little plastic clips on the coilpacks. Can I remove these or
do they provide a function?

If I'm thinking of the same white plastic clips, all they do is secure the electical harness to the coil packs (Keep you from disconnecting the harness). If I rememeber correctly even with them removed you still need a small screwdriver to disconnect the connector. I think you will OK with removing them. The connector is a standard GM style connector with a lab that hold them connected. The plastic slip is just additional method of keeping them from being disconnected.
