Default Plastic Flap under the front bumper?

Hello yall,

Ever time i want to jack up the front of the car i have to roll the wheels up on some bricks our wood before i can fit a jack under the K member , because of the flap under the bumper.

Does this plastic flap serve a importart purpose? I have thought about just removing the plastic flap, but if it serves a good purpose ill leave it.

Thanks

I'm not sure what this "flap" is but if it looks like a fin that hangs down a bit and the bottom edge of it is scraped it's to help direct air to cool your engine.

These cars are "bottom-feeders". That flap or air deflector directs air to the radiator, so if you remove it the car will be prone to overheating.

If you remove it, your car will explode as soon as you turn it on..............ok, maybe not explode but it will get really hot, really fast.

It sucks yes. But keep that **** on.

I can usually get my jack under there and wiggle it around a bit to get it perfect. Takes way to bloody long though.

Yeah i had my airdamn off one time and drove it for a couple miles, don't remember why I had it off, but to say the least, then engine temp got higher than usual while driving.

That's called "the chin spoiler" BTW.

I built some simple ramps out of 3 2x6's nailed together, each one a little shorter than the one below it. Works great for me. I can drive the car up on them and change the oil without jacking it up, and I'm not the skinniest kid on the block.
