Default speed shop says pacestters suck???

as the title says, i stopped by a "proformance" shop today on my way home from work, they just moved in about 6 months ago and i've been wondering what their all about. so i asked for a price on pacesetters and right away he tells me i don't want them. he says the quality sucks and i shouldn't put it on my camaro, especally since its an ls1 he says. his suggestion was slp all the way.
mind you the only cars in the parking lot was an old nissan z and a mercury cougar, and an old nissan being worked on in the back.
now is this guy just a ricer douch bag that doesn't know what hes talking about, or is there some truth to what he says??
i'm willing to bet hes a douch, but i'd like to hear your thoughts haha.

my pacesetter's are great. Quality was pretty good for the price. Lots of people complain about SLP's hanging too low

Maybe if he compared them to Kooks, QTP, etc...but comparing them to SLP makes me laugh. SLPs are probably the least favored header. Not that the build quality isnt good, but the fitment sucks. Pacesetters have good quality and awesome fitment.

It's usually the fit and ground clearance (or rather the lack of) that turns people off the SLPs
Pacesetters are good value in headers, they fit, and perform well for not alot of $$$
Bottom line if you want stainless, go with the kooks or QTP, if you want the coated mild steel, then pacesetters

He probably only knows of 1 company and just suggested those since SLP used to be the "big" company for Fbody's. SLP are overpriced, and hang low..

there are a lot of quality headers that are cheap outhere.. Pacesetters are probably the best bang for the buck..

But i must admit.. im torn between those and Edelbrocks new long tubes..

I went to a speed shop like that, the guy told me that headers in general suck for our cars, he said the best bang for the buck is the tornado. I was like mental note never come back here again.

In not a Pacesetter fan but i would never recomend SLP headers. Go with QTPs if you want the best.

The guy who told you that is a tool and has no clue what he's talking about. I know of many 400 to 800 hp cars running them with no problems whatsoever. Pacesetter is a great product for the price and they work as well if not better than any other out there. Kooks and QTP's are excellent products, excellent finish, engineering, and at the top of just about everyones list. SLP's suck ***; SLP has excellent marketing, mediocre products, and outrageous prices for what it is they sell: hype. Personally, if it says SLP, I won't buy it. Just my 2 cents.

PS, print out the responses and share them with this idiot.
