Default ngks v ac delcos

i took my car in today for my oil pump, and me and my mechanic started talkin about our cars....hes got a 97 383 stroked camaro, we talked about plugs and i told him im about to put new ngks in, he said thats a negative and i should run the ac delco iridiums, he had some negative info on the ngks like there just better for sprayed motors....? soo what do yall think

well from my personal experience the ngks didnt work very well for me my idle was a little more erratic and i switched to the ac delcos much smoother idle and have not had any problems but ngk is a good plug i just think evryones car has there own little quirks and prefer certain parts over others.

I would agree saying that the iridium with them being a cooler plug they would be better for a spray engine. however the ngk coppers would be fine for what your looking to do.

NGK makes the delco iridiums. I work at Advanced Auto and i was pulling a copper, platinum, ngk iridium, and a delco iridium out to compare. And i'll be godamned if the Delco plug had NGK stamped into the wrench flat part. Right above that was AC delco written on the white part of the plug. Pretty comical, i might have even got a picture of it with my phone. I checked a few more plugs, and not all of them had NGK stamped in it, but i figure if they make one, they might just make them all.

What part numbers are you guys using for the A/C delco Iridiums, or NGK Iridiums equivalent to the NGK tr-55 v-powers. I'm going to give them a whirl when I swap my plug wires.

i got the tr-55s because i heard alot of bolt on guys were running them, and thats pretty much what ive got done to my car. i didnt really hear much about the ac delcos, i know that the ones my mechanic was talking about were the same price as the ngk iridiums, i just don want it idling like crap

Eh I run non-irridium tr55's on my car. I've had no issues. They work fine for me and they are inexpensive.

But with non-irridium wont you have to change them more often? Like every 10-20,000 miles? I would rather run the irridiums just for the fact there a "100,000" mile plug, meaning less changing because we all know that isnt the greatest job to do.

I ran non irridiums in my race motor honda, lasted a long time comp was 11.5:1 and that motor lived at the red line.

NKG makes a damn good plug. I'd asume they would last alot longer in a street motor.

Truthfully all the motors I've put NKGs in either have died or been sold before I needed to change plugs, I think that says somthing.
