It'd be nice to see them next to each other, seeing how I haven't seen an LS7 intake. Would it be possible/practical to shape LS1 heads to match the LS7???

Good grief, bro! You act like we slapped your momma, what's up??? I honestly would like to know if it's possible to match an LS7 intake to LS1 heads. If that offends you, please step aside and let someone chime in with an answer.

The dyno work I've seen suggests that the LS7 in a little to big for ls1. On a 346 cid engine the LS6 is your best choice. In fact I saw a article that said if you have a GTO you should try to con the owner of an ls6 into swapping you intakes. If the runners are to big you don't get asmuch air speed, so your velocity goes down alonf with torque. The LS7 is made for 427 cubes, the ls2 in take is also 90 mill. But If you don't hav the diplacement you won't make enough vacuum to keep up the right air velocity.
