Re-wiring on new motor, where does this wire attach to?
I'm just finishing up installing my 402, and have one wire I'm not sure where it goes to. It's in the same wire loom as the positive battery cable to the starter, and about the same gauge wire. It's just a crimp-on fitting that a bolt/screw would go through, but it's about 2" long and silver colored. Is this a third wire to the starter? Sorry if it seems like an obvious answer, but I literally gutted this car last October, and this is the only one where I can't remember where it terminates...
Thanks

I'm guessing it is a ground strap, I'm just not 100% sure where it goes to. I put the tranny in today and ran out of time before I could install the starter, so thats just where I stopped. Like I said, it might go to the starter, but I don't remember exactly. I know the positive, and the solenoid trigger wire go to the starter, but I don't remember from when I removed it 7 months ago if the starter had a third wire on it, or if it grounds to the block, or k-member...
