Default truck PCV

I´ve heard of people using the truck PCV-valve instead of the one in our LS1 cars... Is it better?

How so? I picked one up but haven't put it in yet.

I was going to do that and a homemade catch can. I already have the vented oil cap.

I've got one if you need it. It didn't help mine. It works on some, and on some it doesn't.
