Default TB bypass / H20 sending unit install

I got the idea from another thread, so I went to Lowes and got a 3/8" female "t" fitting, a couple of 3/8" pipe/barbed hose ends, and a 3/8 to 1/4 reducer for the sending unit to my Autometer water temp. gauge. I had to drill and tap a small hole in the 'T' to mount a ground wire to, but other than that it was simple, and alot easier to do than putting the sending unit in the passenger side head. I also got the TB bypass done at the same time, so I killed 2 birds with one stone. Everything fits good, but I had to put the stock bellows back on b/c it was tight between the 't' and the water pump pulley, so I may move everything over towards the pass. side this weekend to fix that.

Yea, I just drove to the store to let it warm up, and idling in the parking lot it showed ~215 degrees, then started slowly coming down below 210 as I drove back home, so it looks fairly accurate.

I may have to try this... I was looking at putting it in the passenger side head... It is easy to get to on mine because I have no A/C or Heat... I need to find a fitting to adapt to the size of the hole in the head...
We'll see how it works out...

210* (you have a stock t*stat??)

You ought to do a write on this with some pics. I want to add a water temp gauge to my car.

Yea, if I get time tonight I'll see what I can do. My wife is 9 mo. pregnant and being induced tomorrow morning, so it's kinda crazy around here right now. I'll send you the pics from my camera phone if you can host them for me.

It was in the plumbing section, with the pvc pipe and such. It took me a minute to find it. I first tried the hardware section where they have the nuts and bolts and couldn't find it there.
