Default Am I missing anything?

I am trying to get the most out of the bolt-ons as possible.

Sitting next to me are a set of QTP Headers and an LS6 intake ready to go on.

The car already has:
A Magnaflow Catback
Ported TB
Lid
Smooth Bellows

The car will also get a custom Y with a full dyno tune.

I want to stay away from the electric water pumps and underdrive pullies.

Question is am I leaving anything out that I can add to take advantage of the tune I will be investing in?

Get a 160* thermostat and throw it in before the tune. Get them to re-program your fans to come on earlier.

Why are you turned away from an UD pulley? They are a great mod. They free up some power and extend the life of your accessories (by 25%! ). If you have a large stereo or something, you could put on an overdrive alternator pulley.

yeah i have been wondering about that myself, is it necessary to use the overdrive pulley for the alternator, if its a 6spd or only a a4. Just curious, I need enough power to run a jl 12 w7 its been done already with my car but now im switching over to a 25% u/d pulley and im curious.

It all depends, I think giving back that 2-3rwhp that the overdrive pulley costs is worth it to not have to worry, but then you have to wonder if you should just stick with the stocker.

You might be able to get away with running just a straight UD pulley. If you drive around all the time with the stereo blasting, you might run into problems. No real way to tell untill you do it. I got trapped in the drive-thru at Taco Bell one night for 45 minutes camming ***** and with the fans on, no charging problems at all. I doubt you'll have a problem with the M6.

Yeah, I just heard mixed reviews. I know alot of people on these boards run them, but for the saftey of not having to worry about any charging issues (also I live in AZ not so cool all the time) I would rather put the money towards the next project with H/C.

I am open to suggestions though.

I have never had a charging issue. Get a U/D pulley and an Optima red top, and you will be set.

I did some searching on the forums and some have noticed a problem with the power steering at low RPM levels. I can forsee that as a problem as it is not recieving as much power from the engine from before.

Is this a problem with all underdrive pullies?

I've never had a problem with it, and my pump has 118k miles.

Yes it is. I noticed no driveability difference from going from the stock cam/pulley to an F14 (232/234* .603") and an ASP pulley.

Chuck over at HPE tuned my car, he did an outstanding job.

Ok sounds like I may get a pulley as well. I have heard good things about the powerbond so I may go with that.

Is there any real difference between the pully brands?

Get the underdrive pulley.

I have over 1200 watts (900 to the sub) rms in my system and have almost your exact setup but with an underdrive pulley. Recently my alternator took a crap and I replaced it with a high output one and bumped the idle to about 850. Everything works fine. Also the high output alternator has an underdrive pulley on it. Less resistance and possibly a couple more hp.
