I here great things about Kooks and QTP's. I am going with one of the two in the future. I will get rid of the hookers if I build the motor I want to build

Any reason why you want the 1-7/8" headers over the 1-3/4"? You won't see any decent gains untill you hit at LEAST 500rwhp.

The 1-7/8" headers should not have worse ground clearance than the 1-3/4".

According to his sig he is going with more cubes. My QTPs tuck up under the car nicely. Plenty of ground clearance.

Im going with a 402, with ported heads and a huge cam. So ya im going with 1 7/8, thats what tsp told me to go with. But i know there is a huge discussion about the header topic

Default hooker 1 7/8 headers

Has anyone used these headers or have any problems with them.

Exclamation

Yesterday I ordered Edelbrock coated 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" stepped race headers with air/egr ......looked at quite a few headers in the last month, except Kooks, and these look the nicest...I have 3 friends with Hookers[not ls1] and none of them like them much particularly.

Kooks would be the best for a lowered car.

would a decent gain be seen with a heads/cam car with 1 7/8's with a larger shot of nitrous compared to that with 3/4's? sorry to hijack, but you said over 500rwhp, would that be included with nitrous?

If your missing a bit of power on the spray, just up the pills.

Might want to check with the nitrous guys to see what they think. It may be a very bad thing to have that much nitrous injected exhaust gas trying to escape a smaller primary, but I don't know.

I run the QTP 1 7/8's on my 402, they work perfectly. QTP doesn't make the 1 7/8's anymore so you have to go with the Kooks, still an awesome header and they will work perfectly for what you want to do. My car is lowered and they are the same clearance as the 1 3/4 headers were.

Hope that helps.
