Default How to clean O2 sensors?

As the title says, any way to clean these without harming them? Took them out because I'm swapping my stock exhaust with headers and would like to clean them before putting them back in.

I torch them, then use electric contact cleaner to get the rest of the junk.

Yep, saved a good 6 pairs over the years with a $10 torch from Lowes and contact cleaner.

Do you just heat the tip of the sensor with the torch, let it cool, then blast it with the cleaner? I've got one that is bad, and a replacement is over $350, so I'm willing to try a few things before I buy a new one.

Put in a vise.

Hit all 4 sides and the top for 30-45 seconds or till it glows red ( don't worry, you won't hurt it ).

Hit it with contact cleaner after it cools down.

It's for my parents' car - a 1997 Catera. I have no idea why in the hell it's that much, but that's an Auto Zone/Advance Auto price. Can't imagine what a dealership would charge for one.

I'll definitely give this one a shot and see if it helps any.

I checked Autozone and they showed one for that car being $91. There is another one for 350 but the one for 91 would work.
