Catalytic converters fried?????
Just a thought, my car, a '02 Z06 w/ tpis headers, fast 78mm intake, x-pipe w/ high flow cats, PRT mufflers & cold air kit.
I tuned and dynoed 392rwhp sae corrected last summer.
A bone stock Z runs right beside me on the highway.:screwy:
Whenever I go for a good spirited run ( ex. a 1/4 mile pass), I hear a tapping jingling noise coming from under the car when I hit any small bumps in the road. This rattling will usually last for about 30 sec. to 1 min. and go away. I have had the car up in the air and checked for anything obviously loose etc.
Now my buddy who owned the car previously , had run for about a year and a half with "experimental tuning" trying to get it dialed in(without a wideband or dyno)
Could this sound be the catalytic converters solidifing when they get hot, and maybe the power loss ???
Last time the x-pipe was off the cats had the full of rocks sound.
Any input is appreciated.. Thank you.
