Question white plug?

hey guys i have a question for you.
i was doing a plug swap with a set of tr55's and i got them all but the #8 plug then about a month later i got the #8 after slideing the coil rail up.
the old plugs where the delco factory plugs and all of them looked normal except the #8 plug was white.
the car had a little stumble at low rpm's not like a miss just barley there and once and a wile i would get a ses light on for a day or so and it would go off by it self.
the code said bank one lean [cant remember exactly what it said but its close]
would that plug cause that?
and why was it white?
the car runs perfect and has 40k on it and is in top shape
just wondering about it so thanks guys

try the tr-5's. 6 is more than what you want unless you are runnin' a 150+ shot.

How long have you had the car? The last owner might not have, or if he had somebody else change the plugs might not have changed plug #8 because that sumbitch is a pain in the *** to get to. Just a thought.

well i have a 02 long block and the engine was out of the car but they was probly to cheap to do a easy plug swap with it out of the car but the plugs are ac delco's and the tip is wierd like a iridium so i think the are the stock plugs that came with the 02 engine.
i have the tr55's now but by switching to the tr5's will it hurt perfomance at all?
if not can i get a part #
thanks for the help

I had a similar problem on my TA, ended up it was a fuel injector that went south...you might want to pop out # 8 and have it tested

White plug = lean condition. Chance are it was a bank2 lean DTC. My guess is also fuel injector that went south. Replace plugs with tr55's and swap fuel injectors from number 8 to number 1, that way its easy to check the plug up front. See if the lean condition DTC or white plug follows the bar fuel injector. Or like it was suggested, get them tested.

When I had that injector that was going out...I hooked up my AutoTap and logged misfires....when holding throttle at about 2000 RPM, the cylinder with the bad injector had a ton of misfires, compared to the rest....so if you have a scanner, you can try that. Unless your plug wire wasn't seated correctly, or your coil pack is bad & not firing at all, then your plug could be white becuase of no ignition in that cylinder.
If the injector is just totally bad, you should be able to uplug the wire clip from it & the engine speed shouldn't change at all...mine was not totally dead & not totally 100% functioning correctly either, so the AutoTap shed the light on what was going on.

well the engine is not running wierd at all and the car pulls very strong and i dont feel any stumbleing or any thing. i figured if it was a bad injectior the car would run like crap because i had a bad one in my old 5.0 and it started running like ****.
i might just swap a new set of plugs in it shoud i try the tr5's?
