Default MAF causes tranny issue's??????

"MAFs typically cause error codes in A4s unless you change the programming. My Tranny started acting funky with gutted MAFs, so that's why i put the stock one back in".

Is this true? If so what programming needs to be changed, and how easy is it? <img border="0" alt="[worship]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" />

I have an A4 and ported MAF, and after I did the porting I read that when you do this in an A4, the sensor reads a little different, which decreases line pressure to the tranny and leans the A/F Ratio. 2 things can compensate for the tranny. The first I recomend because you will enjoy your A4 more anyway - Trans Go Shift Kit! WOW, second hits hard. The other thing you can do is get the Predator, it allows you to increase line pressure in an A4 and it allows adjustment to the A/F Ratio. But that is just my 2 cents.

I have the fast toys larger maff ends. I have heard some discussion about the a4 trans in regards to low line pressure. Because of these discussions I have made a few tech dept phone calls including: Fast toys, SLP and tci trans. No one I talked to had heard of this problem and I have not experienced it myself. I realize that every car could be different and that is why I checked with the tech depts above. With all of this said there is an adjustment under the trans oil pan. It is under a small electric Solenoid in the front of the trans. Remove the Solenoid and there is a small screw under I believe you turn it clock wise by 1/8 turn at a time. This will raise your trans line pressure. I have not needed this fix but if anyone is interested I will find the web site and get the instructions for you. I'm pretty sure this address will get you there. http://www.ls1camaro.net/sections.ph...ticle&artid=27
