Cam or Chip . . or both
I have a 2000 TA M6, mods so far are ram air, lid, ls6 intake, headers, exhaust, ported tb, smooth bellow. Now I am wanting to put a chip in it or a good cam or both. Does anyone know of any chips worth the money. What is the best cam for good horsepower gain but still reasonable gas mileage with the set up i have now. If you could give me some price ranges too that would help alot.thanks

I think pre-93 fbod/Corvette cars (OBD I ?) used a replacement EPROM chip to change the PCM tune since the EPROMS were not flashable.
The PCM in the 93 and up fbod/Corvette cars (OBD II ?) is flashable and requires tuning software to re-write the calibration rather than physically replacing the EPROM chip in the PCM.
The first year for the LS1 was 1997 in the C5 (and then 1998 in the fbods), so the LS1 would always have had a flashable EPROM vs. the old 'replace the chip in the PCM' style.
...and yeah, people get uptight around here when you mention 'chipping' an LS1 haha.
