Seal Airbix Hood Question
Team:
Is there any sense of sealing the airbox to the hood with weatherstrip foam on 2002 WS6 if I have already done a free ram air mod. The reason ia m asking is because I have cut the plastic air baffle below the air box, how would sealing the airbox help yhen since air is entering from 2 directions now?
Also, any idea what dimension foam should I use for this purpose if I have to do it. I don't know how to measure the space between hood and airbox when closed?
Thanks
Adnan

Re: Seal Airbix Hood Question
...this mod was discussed in a recent ASE article in High Performance Pontiac magazine....
....it said the sealing mod produced no dyno gains and no measurable ET reduction....
...I think the space (gap) is designed to allow rain water to drain so it is not sucked into the engine....so my question is ...will sealing this gap result in a flooded engine during a bad rain storm...????
you may want to re-think this one...
