Default Why does my exhaust have so much rasp?!?!

I listened to a ton of cars that had hooker longtubes, off-road y-pipe, and hooker catback. I never heard any rasp from these systems. I then put basically the same thing on.... Jet-hot longtubes without emissions, hooker y-pipe, and hooker catback on my heads&cam car, and it has the worst rasp from 1000-2800 rpms on my auto!! I understand about rasp coming from no cats, because I had longtubes, off-road y-pipe, and loudmouth on my last car...and hated it!!! Has anyone else encountered this?! It is very annnoying due to the convertor slipping the motor into the worst possible rasp region all the time!!!! Anyone else encounter this on the same setup?! Any suggestions, or should I just buy a dynomax bullet muffler? Will that take care of it? Thanks!!

Your right, get a bullet muffler. ive heard that 2 12s in each side of the y-pipe will fix the problem. or a 18 in the I-pipe will get ride of most of it.

Thanks Drew! I will probably just try the one in the intermediate pipe, because I don't want to have to cut on the y-pipe anymore.

tyler, i would also recommend the 12 or ever 18" bullet in the intermediate pipe if that will fit. i dont understand why you have it but good luck! i bet it will be a quiet car at idle then!

Will the bullet restrict flow? Cause i was thinking if i get a cut-out it would be in front of the bullet and very loud in the car?

no rasp here... FLP LT headers, cats, and hooker cat back..

...unfortunately the y-pipe bangs like hell, the car runs pig rich, but no raspie sounds...

...putting the cats back on will cure it besides makeing you legal again...
