Default I was bored tonight, but I saved 140 bucks... See pics

I was sitting at the shop, looking at my throttle body and wondering who to send it out to. Well after thinking about it a while and having seen several throttle bodies personally I decided to break out some porting/ polishing tools. The results are pictured below. Ill get a better digital camera tomorrow and take some more pics. The out lip was removed, the shaft was worked and blade screws taken down to match the shaft, throttle body was FULLY ported and highly polished. The blade itself was knife edged on the front, and fully polished as well. Looks like a quality piece to me. We will dyno this TB Vs a stock one tomorrow on a H/C/I car. Results should be interesting. Anything over 5rwhp and I think my time was worth it.

Lets try this again

Looks like you've got the link to the pic pointing to your personal Webshots directory (as you see it when you log in). It needs to point to the public side of things so we can see the pic... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" />

What kind of epoxy did you use to fill the holes?

I could care less about the outside of the throttle body, although yours looks sharp. Im more concerned with function than looks. My inside looks just as good, I just have a shitty digital camera, which I will replace tonight and take some more pics.

screw the outside, thats for show.
pull out the camber shaft and grind off the front blade girdle and then sink the screws directly into the plate for a better laminar flow coefficient over the blade as the blade ends could be rounded instead of squared off. You went about the edges the right way bringing the lip to a curve instead of a knife edge as a lot of shops do. This will in tandem with the type of coupler make a "venturi effect".

You can improve the flow quite a bit by smoothing out the taper into the mouth to lessen flow separation and you should also cut the shaft.

Update... Dyno is on hold until Monday. Things came up and prohibited me from getting to the dyno.

I pulled the blade again and hacked the front of the shaft off. Looks MUCH nicer. I will post updated pics TOMORROW as well once I get my new digital camera. This one doesnt show the work that is done at all. I would put this TB against any of the sponsors on the dyno or at the track. A throttle body can only be worth SO MUCH and I think I have this thing tweaked.

Not a hit, just these things take a background of flow theory as well as experience.
