Looking for Feedback on Dynatech Supermaxx Headers
I am looking into getting headers for my T/A and I was wondering what everybody's experiences has been with the Dynatech Supermaxx headers. Any feedback or info on fit, sound, performance, installation, etc. is much appreciated.

I've got the supermaxx system on my 98z28. They fit very well and I haven't had any problems so far. They looked so good I had to get rid of the flowmaster catback and put a Hooker catback in its place.

I' ve heard an read nothing but good reviews about these. GMHTP, in fact, just installed these on an 01 WS6 with good success. They look really nice, and the y-pipe seems to fit pretty well. However, it is only 2.5" in diameter. I suppose if you are looking for really good flow, a 3" y-pipe may be better, but you will sacrifice ground clearance, or modify the body to tuck it higher. That' s what I ended up doing, for more clearance. But, back to your question, good fit, T304 SS, nice looks. Looks to be a good investment.

thanks for the info guys. I am already lowered, so I don't want to have a huge clearence issue. How is access to spark plugs after the headers are on and will I need o2 extensions?

I just installed a Supermaxx system (headers, cats, y) on my 2001 WS6...
very easy install (after pulling the old system off) and the headers fell right in (k-member must be about 2.5 ft above ground), excellent fit, excellent clearance all around (k-member, steering shaft, ground), excellent spark plug access (way better than stock).
They look really really good.
Comes with two O2 extensions for the front.
I haven't started it up yet, I'm waiting on new spark plug wires (two of them were bad) and new AIR tubes (old ones were all rusted).

Got my attention. Where can this system be purchased btw?

I got mine from Afterthought, I believe they are a sponsor; they offer a discount on their website.
The Supermaxx's seem expensive, but thay are all stainless steel, are very well made, fit very well and include a complete installation kit and cats.
Edit: yes, they are a sponsor: http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com/

I do have a suggestion, with regard to the band clamps, if it matters.
I have used the ones, in the picture, on another exhaust, and have found as far as band clamps go, Walker makes a couple nice ones. The joint on the clamp seems to seal better than the ones pitured in the image. I get them from Summit, although, I' m sure a sponsor has them too. I found they have a butt-style and slip-fit-style that won' t crush the pipes, like I have found, on the ones pictured. Again, they seemed to seal better too, because they come with this sticky glue-like crap, that crushes in the joint, and fills in the gaps and what-not.
Anyways, I don' t think you will find much of a sound difference between LTs. you would find much of that difference in catbacks or dual setups.
