Swapping 1998 exhaust manifolds for 2002's , straight swap? Is this a straight swap? I have stock exhaust manifolds (and system) on my 98 SS and want to swap for 2002 exhaust manifolds. I know headers will be better, but will this swap have some gain for now? <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" />

Re: Swapping 1998 exhaust manifolds for 2002's , straight swap? Power gain...little, if any. Remember. You have EGR/AIR provisions and '02's don't. Are you going to do block-off plates and tuning to get rid of the EGR/AIR?

I believe 00 and up have different y-pipe too and the old style probably would not work without modifications.
