Default Anyone running PPC's Headers???

I am very interested in their headers, but am looking to see if anyone has had the glory of the install and could share any problems, as well as pros or cons they found.

Thanks,

in my opinion, u should go with the qtp headers, u wont have to worry about rusting because they are stainless steel and also they have merge collectors with a velocity spike in the collector. u can also go with there dual cutout y-pipe....check there site or just do a search for qtp headers, u'll find what ur looking for about info about them.....

ppc, thunder racing, and qtp headers are all suposedly based on the grot headers. Qtp just started the stainless steel wich is a plus. The velocity colectors so far are only for the race headers, no emmisions. I plan on going flp b/c of the in and out cats and they are always improveing. Emailed them the other day and they emailed me some improvements, one of the big ones is the banging y is suposedly fixed.

I want to keep my cats and keep as much ground clearance as I can. I like the FLP's, but heard a lot of bad install stories. If the QTP's, TR, and PPC's are all based the same, why are PPC's so much more $$$? I believe that you usually get what you pay for and would rather pay more and have an easy install and more performance, but not sure about paying more for the same product as some others. HMMMM

I would look into the QTPs as mentioned above, they come in stainless steel now and come with optional merge collectors

Plus the price has gone down a little.....Can't wait to find out about the cat Y pipe, thats what I am getting

From what i have seen or been told, no one has these headers. The ones pictured on the sight are on the owners car. If someone actually does, id love to hear from them...

Thunder has them, PPC did not the other day, QTP's are coming soon and may be worth the wait...any yes, I beleive you can get merge w/ emmissions as far as the QTP's go.

PPC, TR, QTP......ALL of them are the same exact header design stemmed from the original "Grott" headers. The only difference you'll find are in the collectors themselves.

I have on order from PPC a set of their headers with AIR only for my '02 SS (their the only company I found that offered AIR only) and a custom 3'' y-pipe with cats. I believe that all the companies mentioned above are having fitment issues with manufacturing a y-pipe with cats to fit properly in the F-body. As Damian stated all these companies are utilizing the 'Grott' design with their own collector designs. Personally I see no advantage to using stainless steel over ceramic coated heavy gage steel. Neither should rust and there shouldn't be any horsepower advantage that I can imagine from one to the other. I should be one of the first people to get the full PPC setup and will report my install experience to the board this spring. TJ

Yes..but...they are ot all the same... none of the above mentioned have velocity spikes other than QTP's. If your on the edge, looking for a reason to choose one over the other...that may be it.

I spoke with Gordon, owner of PPC for a while on the phone today, and his header is basically the same design as the Grot's. In fact he is using the same manufacturer. I'm not sure if his collector design is the same.

He did say this though, his kits are complete. No extra installation hardware, o2 simms, no extra clamps etc needed.

They are ceramic coated inside and outside, shouldn't be any rust issues there.

Stainless steel although may help evacuate exhaust gases better will create a lot of heat under the hood.

He also mentioned that his header and y pipe will tuck in nicely and will have good ground clearance.

His y pipe can be had in 2.5 or 3 inch with cats in place or not.

You guys may want to give him a call, he's a nice guy and will answer any and all questions.
