Default Custom Bellows

Has anyone made their own from the lid-tb? Got any pics? What kind of stuff did you use? Thanks

My MAF is actually in the end of the lid and then from the MAF to the TB I have a 3 inch diameter piece of rubber iron pipe fitting from a hardware store. Seems to be working great and only cost about $4.50.

Fernco hose. $5 from Home Depot. Here's a pic. Oh, and don't worry about those braided lines. Those are just there for show <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

unit213, I was thinking about doing this also. What size hose did you use? A 3in to a 4in?

That is the same setup I have that I tried to describe earlier. Excellent, simple, and cheap to do. <img border="0" alt="[gruffy cottonball]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_gruffy.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

I honestly don't remember the size. I just went outside and looked at it. It doesn't have the size on it though. I believe it's 3.5"x3.5". I could be wrong. It was a very tight fit I can tell you that. I had to put it in the microwave for a minute to make it more pliable. It fits really well now. You might want to buy a 3.5x3.5 and a 3.5x4" just in case. They're only $5 and you can always return the one you don't use. I shaved the ribs on the end down some for appearance as well.

I might as well warn you guys. Several people on this board have said that the Fernco hose cracked the tabs off their lids. The Fernco doesn't flex much. BUT, I've had zero problems for a year now. I highly recommend it. As with anything, it's at your own risk. SLP can keep that $50 bellows.

If you feel you want to use the fernco...put it in the hot sun on pavement for an hour first...or heat it so it flex's and doesnt harm the cheaper lids.
