EGR VALVE with LONG TUBES?
Ive just recently installed long tube headers in my car and when i hand them installed the guy who did it took off my egr valve. i was wondering if you were supposed to keep that on or not. I plan on getting an ls6 intake and i know that doesnt have an egr valve but i was wondering if after i put that on would my check engine light go off or would i have to do something else for that. thanks

Re: EGR VALVE with LONG TUBES?
What kind of headers did you get, and what year is your car?
When I got my Hookers, me and a couple buddies put them on. I had headers set up for a '99 LS1, so my EGR and AIR didn't match the headers. They changed EGR and AIR slightly between 99 and 2000. Good thing the buddy of mine had a 99 car, and had deleted all of his stuff with LS1 edit, so I used his EGR and AIR.
It's possible that the guy who installed your headers just didn't bother with it if they didn't match.
Write a sig, so people can see what you have on your car and better answer your questions.
