99 shorties fit an 00
Ok I'm getting a pretty good deal on a set of edelbrock shorties from a guys 99 and I want to put them on my 00 I know the EGR will line up but what about the air tubes, I read you need to bend them, can they be bent? and is it a big deal? and I know I won't see much of a gain with shorties, but I have no cats and an SLP Y and long tubes are out for at least two year so I figure this will hold me off till I don't have to daily drive my car and can then put long tubes on.

shorty's arent worth it in my opinion the stock monifolds flow pretty well from the factory, and for the money why not just save and get long tubes.
Long tubes = at least 20 rwhp
shorty's = 5-10
and by the way you can get the new jet-hot LT's for $ 511 shipped to your door.

No your Y pipe won't bolt right up. The pass side header exits in a different location on 98-99 and 00-02's. The EGR pipe on your 00 will not match up with the flange on the 99 headers either. You will need a 98-99 EGR pipe. And as stated, the AIR tubes are different too. I don't know why everyone thinks 00s are the same as 98-99s. They share the same stock exhaust with the 01-02's except they have EGR. The EGR flange is on the 01-02 manifolds, it's just not drilled and tapped.

Re: 99 shorties fit an 00
well you see I'm getting coated shorties for 150 bucks so 5-10hp for 150 bucks seems like a good deal to me especially considering I'm daily driving a lowered car and under no circamstance can go with long tubes till I don't have to drive it every day which won't be for another 2 years...see my logic?
I really just need to know if they will fit

bending tubes isn't a problem but the y pipe not fitting is what i was afraid of <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
