Default Stock cat converter question

I was wondering if anyone had a stock passenger side cat for a 2000 ss because mine is defective and i need to get smogged soon. So if anyone could help me i would greatly appreciate it. Im not looking for a handout im willing to pay, if that matters.

I was also wondering if i cut the cat out of an 02 camaro and put it on my car to replace my defective cat....would that work??
Thanks

Are you under 80K? I don't understand how California can limit it to 70K? The FEDERAL emissions warranty says 8yrs/80K. I realize California thinks it's another country, but how do they figure they can override it? Not bashing CA or the earlier poster, I was born in San Francisco and grew up in San Jose - just don't understand. If you're under 80K the dealership should honor the warranty - I'd call the 1-800 GM number or something.

I tried finding some stuff for you, but couldn't come up with much.

Does no one in here know if a cat from an 02 can simply be welded in place of one on a 2000? There shouldn't be much difference, right?

i said this earlier, Exhaust is like playing with legos and play-doh at the same time, it all works together!!! the only difference on that passenger side is that it has to be welded instead of clamped like 98-00
