ok you pick , whichever you decide thats what ill go with. Right now i have a ported MAF on with the stock bellows , but about a month ago i bought a used 85MM SLP MAF with a smooth bellows, should i leave the ported MAF on or put the SLP on ? and if you pick the SLP should i descreen it ? ITS YOUR CALL thanx in advance

Put the SLP on and see whether you like what it
does for transmission shifting and your mixture.
If you haven't altered the tuning to match the
ported MAF then I would expect the SLP to be
closer to the "normal" MAF. Presuming it's for
the right year. If the car has learned to like
the ported MAF you might see some initial mix
mismatch and have to learn for a bit. Give it
a week and see if it's better or worse, by any
plain result.

Not like it's a lifelong commitment here... try
the alternatives and settle on the best effect.
And come back with whatever you do notice....

I think the screen on an 85mm MAF isn't going
to be a big airflow limiter. I have left mine
on. Not sure if the screen would come out as
easily as on the stock ones, and I don't care
to mung it up.

I would love to see some flow bench results
for screened and descreened, stock and after-
market MAFs. My view as of now is, I'd rather
have the protection and whatever MAF fidelity
benefit the screen might provide, than that
last bit of (theoretical) airflow. My MAP
readings say there's only 3-4% more possible
gain in the whole inlet tract. Until I have
some data that says more than 1/3 of that's in
the MAF screen, the screen stays in and the
bugs / chunks stay out.

If you have LS1edit go with stock ported MAF, if you don't have stay with SLP MAF 85MM, on LS1edit they're not to much different at the HP.
I am agree with jimmyblue about the screen of SLP 85mm .
