I need advice on exhaust
Alright heres the deal. i am on a really tight budget and want to start working on my car, i got a 93 z with a 6spd, i want to know what you guys think is the best cat back for the most reasonable price, i was thinking about the loudmouth, also what headers would be emmissions legal and not way too expensive, any advice would really help me out. Thanks guys

Re: I need advice on exhaust
The loudmouth is a good choice, if you plan on leaving the stockmanifolds and y pipe on the car. the hooker catback is a great cat back for the money as well and it sounds great with headers and off road y pipes.

I have a loudmouth and a G2 y-pipe.
It sounds great. Got the stock manifolds and cat
also. Won't do headers til' warranty is up-too easy a loophole for dealer techs!

Loudmouth sounds awesome until you get headers. Once those headers go on, it is EXTREMELY loud and raspy. Get the hooker cat back if you have headers in your future.

In my personal opinion...I chose the flowmaster, because when I am cruisin on the highway at 80 mph , I dont want to hear my exhaust constantly for the 45 min drive I take. Trust me, It gets old. But when I get on it, it is there ready ot scream!!!

You haven't heard LOUD until you hear the loudmouth through the LT1. It sounds like a kitten on the LS1. Sometimes, I fail to see why you (LS1) guys about it being so loud. But then I consider how extremely quiet your stock exhaust is and understand the huge sound improvement--sometimes.
93z, go with the loudmouth. You'll get lots of attention and you can itimidate ricers and the occasionaly egotistical mustang owner from approaching you. Just give it some juice and watch them back off! You'll save unnecessary time, gas, and effort (well, what little effort you have to give in the first place). You'll need it for the f-bodies.
Me, personally, I have the loudmouth and I love it! The first day I got drove in my car with it, my knees where buckling, my heart was pounding, and butterflies where mulitpling like rabbits in my stomach all because I was falling in love with the sound. Beware of the police though... they love handing out tickets for "noise pollution."

You also might want to look into the Magnaflow, thats what I plan to get soon!! Not sure on the availability for the LT1, but I can't imagine there whould be too much of a problem. Good system if you ever plan on getting headers I hear.

I know a guy with a '94 z that has a hooker set up. Sounds tuff. It also is not that expensive. He also put in headers without cats and it sounded even better. But not too load. Good volume(noise) with great sound.

i say Flowmaster...but, im partial being ive got flows on my truck
Hookers good, and for the price, they're pretty unbeatable as far as looks and performance go. But, my vote's for Flowmaster...on LT1/4 motors, it sounds badass to me

I would suggest the Banks kit for your car..It is stainless, inexpensive, sounds killer and looks good!..One of the best sounding systems on the market and for the $$ it is hard to beat..

Re: I need advice on exhaust
their is some pics of the kit with the old tips at www.speeddemonmotorsports.com ,but call banks direct @ 800 438 7693 and speak to Jeff or Chris over there.they are the ones that have the info on the kit with the new style tips on it..I have the old style system and I love it,but the new tipped one looks alot better IMO...
