Besides the obvious of the difference between the short filter and the longer filter....what's the main difference in the benefits of it being longer or shorter?.....any clearance issues with the longer ones?......which one works better in terms of the filtering process or whathave?....Say for instance the WIX...same filter different size....?....thanx!!

Longer oil filter has higher filtering ability considering its larger capacity. More filter area is always better. I use them on mine, it allows me to go 6 quarts on oil changes, although it probably only accepts 1/4-1/8 quart more. Its does stick out of the bottom, but my car sits at stock ride height and I have no problems. If your car is lowered I might skip the long filter.

I always ran the longer filters when I had my 98 Formula and it was lowered with Eibach springs too. No problems. Longer filters mean higher oil capacity, more dirt capacity and better oil flow.

i use the k & n hp 1007 , i noticed on my lowered ta , that the oil filter was lower than the headers , it was the lowest point on the car , since then i dont want to chance it . <img border="0" alt="[USA]" title="" src="graemlins/patriot.gif" />
