Default Exhaust manifold gaskets at cats.

Anyone know of board sponsor that sells the triangular, 3 hole exhaust gaskets between cats and exhaust manifolds? Thanks. WJ. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

So I guess you done gutted 'em, eh?

Before you go hooking everything back up
you might really want to take off the
exhaust manifolds and port them. It took
me about half an hour, with a good carbide
burr in a die grinder, to port match the two
"logs" to the carbon left by the old gasket.
At top and bottom there was a sharp lip, 1/8"
and maybe 3/16" into the port. That looks like
a good way to pick up exhaust flow too, and
if you're already taken apart, it'll never be
easier (unless of course you're short one
compressor, die grinder and carbide burr).

This was on '02 manifolds.

I went to the dealer for gaskets, they had
one of the two for the cats and had to order
the other, and the exhaust manifold gaskets.

If you know the diameter, I think any 3 bolt collector gasket should work.

Nah, these are funky. One is a real oddball
triangle with unequal bolt spacing and about
a 2.5" diameter, the other is about 2.375"
internal (metal ring) diameter in a 2.5" pipe
(dumb bastards @ GM then put some extra
smaller-ID tube collars inside the pipe to
protect / flow-smooth around this, instead
of making the gasket match the pipe).

Export tubes sure would be nice, but the
counter monkey at the dealership says they're
factory-only. And that means headers would be
cheaper probably.
