Hooker Catback, couple sound questions
I just installed a Hooker catback a few weeks ago on my trans am, and then I went on a 1000 mile trip round trip . Just after I put it on it was barely different than stock at all sound level wise. It sounded deeper but wasnt really any louder. I liked the deeper but really was hoping for something a bit louder. The trip I took was 450 miles both ways. After driving part of the way up there it was getting louder, and by the time I got up tehre it sounded pretty cool. I liked it a lot. Not annoyingly loud, but still deep and powerful sounding. Then I drove back, and on the way back I noticed it getting quieter again. By the time I got back it was somewhere in between what it was to begin with and after I drove the first 450mi. Now it's quieter than I would like it to be again. Just a little louder than stock until about 2300rpms or so, then it gets louder than stock.
So here's my question. Two questions really. One is, will it change any more in the future or is it probably the way its going to stay now? If it is going to change again, what do you think it will do?
And second, I'm getting ready to put on some Pacesetter LT's and the TSP ORY in the next couple days sometime. How will that change it? Do you think it will get back to how it was when I liked it? How much of a difference will it make?
Thanks

the note doesnt change too much. I'll tell you the same thing i tell everyone about my setup (pacesetter lts > pacesetter ory > hooker catback) it sounds very tame and normal under 2500 rpms. After that it sounds like the world is coming to an end.
It is the perfect muffler for someone who wants a loud great sounding car without drawing too much unwanted attention.

You will love it. I put my Hooker Aerochamber muffler in about a year ago. Then I put a custom y-pipe w/o cats in, still on stock manifolds. It sounds great as is but as we speak Pacesetter LT's & TSP ORY are goin in. I'm hopin it sounds like I think it will. Plus not only does the Hooker give that deep muscle car sound, but it flows very well for the type of muffler it is.
