in short there part of the system that regulates your AFR. you need your B1S1 and B2S1 o2', you dont need the rear ones. most likely your reading about needing o2 sims which are needed to plug up the rear o2 sensors to fool the pcm into thinking that they are still present. your car will run with no rear sensors, it will not with no front sensors.

...another thing about LT headers is that you might need o2 extensions.

Peace,
Craig.

Depends. I ordered the Dynatech Supermaxx headers from Thunder Racing for my 2000 TA partly because it was a complete kit with everything needed...Headers, Y-Pipe and O2 extensions. Talk with the sales people at some of the sponsors to the right, they are very knowledgable about these cars and will usually work out a package for you considering your goals and budget

No problem on the questions, that's what this site is for.

Hardware wise, ask the vendor you're buying the headers from what they include or what you need.

Ok, LT headers. You'll need a y-pipe from the same brand headers you get. You should get all the hardware, but like I mentioned ask the vendor.

You might need o2 extensions.

Make sure you get the correct year headers for your car, the A.I.R. tubes vary from the years. 98-99 and 00-02 are the 2 types I believe, and of course the 01-02 does not have EGR.

O2 simms or have the rear o2's deleted.

Reuse the stock exhaust manifold gaskets.

While the headers are out you might want to go ahead and put some NGK TR55 plugs and some better wires while you can easily get in there when the headers are out.

Thats about it, you can try the search option and read up some more about this subject.

Peace,
Craig.

No problem brother, oh and one more thing. Put some anti-seize on the header bolts.

Peace,
Craig.

Aluminum likes to grab a hold of bolts, and it would really suck to break a header bolt off in your heads.

Peace,
Craig.

personally, i'd buy new STOCK header gaskets... they are usually reusable, but they only cost 15 bucks, and its not worth the pain and hassle to do it all again, if one goes bad after the swap. just get new ones, the extra peace of mind is worth the money!

I agree, the multi layer metal header gaskets are all I use...you dont need any RTV sealer or anything, and you can reuse them and there isnt any scraping the junk off the flanges and head!

If you have problems with the 02 sensors not getting hot enough since they are further down the exhaust stream, you can pick up the Bosch 13111s (vette rear 02s). These have a hotter sensor element and also have a longer wire so you won't need the 02 extensions anymore either (sell them).
