Default Help Borla & Hooker ORY

Fininshing header install but the Borla I pipe wont slip over the Hooker ORY. Seems to me that both are exactly same exact size. Anyone have this problem? Any suggestions welcomed. I would like to fix it as it sits instead of taking the whole exhaust off.

might have to weld the pipes together, especially if they are the same size, or you could go the cheap/easy route and get a band clap and wrap it around the seam.

here is what i suggest. If you know how to weld than weld it on. If you don't than use that stainless band clamp until you can get it to someone who does know how to weld. The last suggestion is to see if a local parts shop or exhaust will lone you or rent you a pipe expander.Hell, just bring the I-pipe in and have them expand it a hair or two.
just my .02 !! good luck though

Shouldn't one of the ends be flared already? or is the borla i-pipe smaller than 3in.? Welding is always a good answer.

PS- I'm waiting for my check for copywrite infringment on the name

Question

Mine was welded together, but has anyone just cut the piece of the y-pipe (end) and welded a slightly bigger piece of pipe. That way it can go over the Borla I-Pipe, my buddy is having this same issue........................Any info

I'm having the same issue with my Hooker catback/Pacesetter ORY. If I don't get it completely on, the hanger bolt on the rear-passenger side of the car will not line up. I even took it to an exhaust shop and had them open it up a hair...still not wide enough.

just my .02 but I wouldn't weld it to the catback in the event you ever want or need to get it back off the car. I'd take the advice above and bring the pipe to an exhaust shop and have them swegde it for you. Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes and a few bucks. Otherwise you can buy a pipe expander (swedger) at your local auto parts store. Either way if it still dosen't quite fit after opening up cut a few horizontal slits at the end of the pipe (the bigger opening), it should help it slide over the other smaller pipe and just seal it up using a band clamp.
