Default ADJUSTING THE TPS

I have a question concerning the adjustment of the TPS. I have followed the procedure to gain some voltage from the TPS by filing down the aluminum throttle stop on the throttle body. My question is, should there also be a readjustment of the cable for the tansmission, and how do you perform this adjustment. Would this even be necessary, or is the trans shifts (pressure)not controlled by this, like the older 700's and 350's
