NGK Solid Copper or Platium or Iridium ?
I am going to replace my stock plugs. Seems most LS1s like the TR55s. According to NGK website, the Iridiums are the latest and greatest thing in plugs. Any one have an opinion on which TR55s are the "best", solid copper or platium or iridium? Thanks

A buddy of mine uses the platinums, and they work fine. If the iridiums are the ones I'm thinking of, they are expensive. Something like 7 bucks a plug. That's too much. Go with the platinum if you're not boosted or spraying.

You definitely want to go with a copper plug (TR6) if you plan on spraying. I'm not sure about NGK platinum plugs, but GM sure lied about not having to change out the stock platinums until 100K miles. The gap on my stock plugs were blown out after 30,000 miles. I no nothing about iridiums, sorry.

Thanks for the info. Considering the time required to change plugs on the LS1, (this will be my first attempt) the few dollars additional cost is worth putting in the best plugs/wires. The best choice seems like the NGK Iridium plugs with Taylor 8 mm or MSD 8.5 mm wires.
