Default ARE K-Member, torque for Engine mount plate

What ft lbs should I torque the plate on the K-member that bolts to the engine mount isolator?

I had to raise the engine a bit and need to tighten things back up.

Thanks

I just put mine on, and tighted the motor mount bolts on the bottom, as tight as I could go, and the ones to the block I tighted as tight as I could, but not so much as to strip the threads. No way to get a TQ wrench in there anyway. I plan to recheck every bolt after a few hundred miles, and after every track day.

So much room in there now. The headers went right up in there without a peep. I dont know about you, but I used alot of zip ties. Hope I helped some.

Thanks Harold.

I ended up not having to loosen the plate up. For some reason 2 nights ago no matter what I did the driver side turbo would not drop, it kept getting stock on this nub on the back of the block.

I figuired I'd pull the mount and lift the motor a bit and let it drop out. I came home last night and decided to take one more look at it before I started taking things apart. I grab the manifold, turned it a bit and it fell right onto the ground

4 hours in the dusk/dark replaced by 30 seconds in the light.

There is a ton of room there yes, it was pretty easy to do all the work and it looks like I'd have enough room on the driver side at least to get a torque wrench in there.

Thanks again

Eric, are you selling your car, or parts off of it? Email me if you are.

Great.

By the way, please respond to those folks in that ad in the classifieds or I will delete the thread, get off the pot.

John,

I have replied. I also was very specific to email me if they were truly interested, otherwise you get stuck with a ton of window shoppers with no intention of making a purchase.

Nick,

I was trying to sell the car but I did the math last night and parting it out seemed smarter. Turbo kit is off, motor is almost out, 12 bolt to match too. I'll email you.

For the record, per GM specs:

Engine mount stud-to-engine block 37 ft lbs
Engine mount through bolts 70 ft lbs
Engine mount through bolt nuts 59 ft lbs
Engine mount to engine block bolts 37 ft lbs

Someone will eventually do a search & find this handy.
