Default is this a good set up

right now my buddy and i just installed a pacesetters longtube headers with cated ypipe with loudmouth exhaust, i thought it would be a lot louder but its not anyway do you think this is a good set up, 1999 ss not a v6

Yep, great setup.

Unlikely to see better gains with any other catback combo.

I assume the Y pipe is TSP's? If so the cats are great for a cammed/bolt on LS1.

LM is stainlees steel and flows great for a catback.

Pacesetters are top notch peroformance wise. Being mild steel they will rust and not last forever like stianless ones though. But that's the same for all non-stainless headers.

thanks for the info, i thought it would be a lot louder but its not, and yeah i got the headers and the y pipe at TSP

If he's an A4 tell him to get a good sized converter (3400-3600 stall), that will definately raise the volume during normal driving.

For an ACTUAL increase in volume, his next option is a medium to large sized cam that flows more air. That'll wake his exhaust up as well.

DETROITMUSCLE had a LM, plus LTs/ORY. Once he added a small cam and ETP heads his exhaust probably tripled in volume.

actually what i did was i took out the resonator and replace it with just a pipe so now i have longtube headers with cated ypipe with LM exahust with with no resonators i just replace it with just custom pipe and its sounds deep and it doesnt hurt my ears at all i thought it would
