Default Important question about Borla adjustable plates!!

Right now, I have a full bolt on WS6 with SLP longtubes, offroad y-pipe, a monster cam, and no restrictor plate on my borla exhaust (not to mention a 4000 stall that always revs very high when driving). This is set-up, although wicked sounding, has become quite simply too loud. I cant go anywhere without being pulled over, and Im tired of it. I was wondering if putting the most restrcitive borla plate in will hurt my performance, and if so, any idea how much? I dont want to lose any power or get even a tad slower, but the noise simply has to be quieted. Any advice you guys can give would be appreciated, Id like to do this asap.

P.S. I have all 4 plates that the original exhaust came with

Get a new exhuast,, catback... I heard that the plates don't really change the noise level that much.... But I may be wrong.

Infact alot of people run a cutout at that spot where the plate resides anyway.

Are you talking about the full block off plate, or the one with the smallest hole? I really like the sound of my car with the full block off plate, but it is still pretty loud, as far as performance, I can't really tell a difference, but my butt dyno is broken. I don't have any sort of data to back up that clame. Its not hard to do so just switch them out and try the plates out for yourself

I don't know where you heard that.

I run the wide open plate, mine is pretty loud. If I use the total block off, it is alot quieter (ask my neighbor).

I would go with an electric cut out to replace the plates.

Check out the McCord power plate that BYUNSpeed sells. You can also check out the McCord website as well. They have one specifically for the Borla IIRC.

Wrong. The difference is night and day between sounds. My car with no plates is super loud and annoying. With the full plate on, the car is super quiet. FWIW.

My car sounds almost as quiet as stock fully blocked off Borla even with the cam and ORY. Try the power cutout.

Running the block off plate on mine, it was definately quiter, and it seemed like it had a little more torque on take off. But then again it is the SOTP feel.

With LT's and a borla, I personally think you need cats to make it sound good with no plates installed. That's my setup and I like it. I'm sure I'd like duals more though.
