pacesetters are proven to be awesome.

that being said, edelbrock's are nice too

i'll be going pacesetter as edelbrock offers no catted-y. ORY's on f-bodies not only are illegal and smell like ****, they sound like **** too. whatever you get, put cats on it.

maybe that's the problem. muscle cars died a real long time ago.

real muscle cars have iron blocks bigger than 400 cubic inches. we don't own a real muscle car. we have an aluminum smallblock motor that is well known to rasp...severely with louder exhaust kits. one of the only cures to this is to run cats. cats belong on an LS1 f-body. they sound like **** without cats. ALL catbacks rasp at some rpm without cats, at least that i've heard.

Well Choco I don't know what to say except you need to learn more. Not every catback has rasp. My hooker has NONE w/o cats. And as far as the muscle car statement, you are partly correct. But just b/c we don't have motors that drink gas like we do water doesn't make them anyless of a muscle car. We still drive something considered by millions to be staples in American Muscle car history. And they always will be.

I've had my pacesetters for a year and a half and they still look new. No leaks or any other problems.

I agree.....if our cars are not Musclecars...what the hell are they....they are Modern Muscle....mine doesn't rasp either...NOT ALL LS1 OWNERS WANT THEIR CAR TO SOUND MUTED.

Can you get Pacesetters without any EGR or AIR or will they always have AIR?

Yep, order the race style. They come without any provisions for air or egr.

Edelbrock! Edelbrock!!! Edelbrock!!!!! These are amazing headers! Stepped w/ true merge collectors. Do a little search to see how much merge collectors are on their own. I had them bolted in the car in 20 min if that means anything also... I say there is no better header for the $$$...

Edelbrock... stepped headers are good for just about any combination, the HVMC is going to help torque, and the collector extender allows it to be "tuned" to the engine and the RPM band. And it's about the same price as PaceSetters. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

The pacesetters were a breeze to bolt on...I have had some issues with my TSP catted y hitting the undercarrage (but I blame that partly on the clutch chatter) and the torque arm...but this may just be in my case.

I second the "get the y with cats"...I have only heard a handfull of light bolt-on lsx's without cats sound good...and all of those with cats sound great!

And I mean really, the cats don't cost that much power...Plus, everytime I have ever been pulled over the troopers/officers have actually looked under my car for cats...Then they said "be glad you have them, I was about to write you a $1600 ticket". And I live in SC where we have no emissions tests!!

Oh yeah...I probably wouldn't get the egr/air provisions unless you will need them for inspections...

how is the ground clearance of edelbrocks compared to pacesetters? the reason i ask is i know pacesetters tuck up nicely.
