Default Exhaust/Catback opinion question..

I have a Flowmaster American Thunder catback on my car right now which I know is not the best when it comes to catbacks. The overall condition of the system is pretty good. I bought the car with this exhaust and the previous owner welded the intermediate pipe to the over-the-axle pipe. My question is........should I replace the Flowmaster muffler (5" x 10") 3" in/dual 3" out with something else (i.e. Dynomax Ultraflow welded, etc) or should I just buy a MagnaFlow catback instead? I have a MagnaFlow catback on my '04 Silverado (with Longtubes) and I love it. If I went with a replacement muffler over the catback, I would want a muffler that is quiet/moderate during cruising/normal driving but has a nice rumble when WOT. Any opinion is appreciated.

buy the whole catback. we're talking aluminized vs. stainless steel here. stainless is far better.

Didnt know that you could get longtubes for an 04 Silverado.

Anyway, I love the Magnaflow catbacks. I would pick one up in a heartbeat to replace any flowmaster setup.

orangeapeel, Stainless Works and Dynatech both make them in stainless with catted 2.5" Y-pipe. Pacesetter also makes them with ceramic coating and 3" off road y-pipe. I have the Stainless Works on my truck. Very well made and the fit is perfect. Thinking about them for my Camaro over the Fall/Winter.
